Stefanie Gerard As the newest Partner in the Audit practice, Stefanie brings to this engagement institutional knowledge and more than 12 years of auditing, tax and nonprofit financial consulting experience. Last year, SmartCEO magazine named Stefanie a SmartCPA winner for her excellence in the profession.Prior to being named Partner, Stefanie was a Senior Audit Manager who developed audit plans, managed fieldwork and monitored day-to-day audit activities. She also assisted clients with implementing accounting systems, such as chart of accounts, consulted on OMB Circulars A-133 and A-122 compliance requirements for clients receiving government funding, provided guidance on allocating joint costs and performed tax consulting on unrelated business income tax issues. Stefanie also trained RAFFA staff on auditing techniques, technical accounting and tax issues, and performing audits in accordance with OMB Circular A-133. As an extension of her audit, tax, and consulting engagements, Stefanie has presented to finance and executive committees and boards of directors of several nonprofit organizations. Past and current clients include the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, League of Women Voters and the Brookings Institution. Stefanie is a member of the Maryland and Virginia Society of CPAs and holds her CPA certificate from the state of Maryland. Stefanie graduated cum laude from American University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and International Business. With a passion for her work and a heart for philanthropic efforts, Stefanie serves on the Board and Finance Committee of Washington DC’s Academy of Hope and on the Finance Committee of So Others Might Eat (SOME). Stefanie joined Raffa as a staff accountant more than a decade ago and she will leverage her career experience and training to make certain work on this engagement is completed accurately, timely, and to your management's satisfaction. |
