Susan B. Hepner, Tax Consulting Services RAFFA Partner Susan B. Hepner is a leader in the field of tax and governance structures for multigenerational groups concerned about the long-term protection of their shared assets. During her 25-year career in the financial services industry, Susan has been recognized on numerous occasions for the value she brings to her clients. Most recently she was acknowledged by her peers in Washingtonian Magazine's 2009 "Top Financial Planners" survey, a recognition she has received consistently.

As the former managing Partner of the highly-regarded regional CPA firm Freidkin, Matrone & Horn P.A., Susan is a trusted business partner and personal advisor to families regarding tax planning and long-term wealth preservation. Since the firm's merger with RAFFA, Susan continues to offer clients advisory services in areas such as insurance, investments, personal and estate planning, and wealth management. In addition to her business acumen, Susan offers clients the benefit of shrewd contract and real estate negotiation, particularly with the purchase and sale of property.

Susan has participated in the financial services industry by sitting on the Audit, Nominating, Compensation and Executive Committees of Fidelity & Trust Financial Corporation, where she was a past chair. Previously, she held board positions with Fidelity & Trust Bank, the Franklin National Bancorporation and BB&T Bank.

Susan also has a keen interest in the environment, education and the arts. She was chair of the board of the Washington Performing Arts Society and a board member of the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School; the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington; the Circles Board of the Kennedy Center; and the Earth Conservation Corps, a local nonprofit that targets neighborhood youth to help clean up the Anacostia River.

Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Symphony Orchestra, a member of the board of directors and Executive Committee of the DC Chamber of Commerce, and a member and treasurer of the Imagination Stage Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Economic Club of Washington, D.C.

Susan holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from American University and a Master of Science in Taxation from Southeastern University.
