Kim Robertson, Audit & Quality Control Kim Robertson, Audit Partner Kim is a partner with RAFFA. She joined the Firm in 1996 and assists in the administration of the firm’s audit department, the training of the firm’s personnel and the coordination of the firm’s peer and quality control reviews, as well as oversees and directs many of the firm’s audit, tax, technology and consulting engagements. Kim has served the nonprofit industry exclusively for more than 20 years.

Prior to joining RAFFA, Kim was a senior manager at a Washington, DC metropolitan area CPA firm that served primarily nonprofit organizations. She was responsible for the planning, performance and review of many of the firm’s nonprofit audit, tax and consulting engagements. Kim also chaired the firm’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-133 Committee and was heavily involved in the training and recruitment of the firm’s professional staff.

In addition to audit, tax, and consulting engagements, Kim has made presentations to Finance and Executive Committees, Boards of Directors, and several nonprofit organizations. She has been a seminar presenter for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Financial Management Symposium, the nonprofit symposium sponsored by the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and conferences sponsored by the National Grants Management Association and Opportunities Industrialization Centers International.

Kim has authored articles pertaining to the nonprofit industry which have been published in monthly newsletters and ASAE’s Association Law and Policy and Dollars and Cents. Kim has developed and presented several accounting and bookkeeping seminars and training programs, assisted nonprofit organizations in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, assisted in the development of cost allocation plans, developed indirect cost rate proposals and submissions and performed internal control reviews. She has performed organizational assessments, facilitated strategic planning sessions, and has assisted clients in cost vs. benefit analyses. Kim has also overseen the installation and implementation of accounting software packages and databases, web sites and hardware and networking systems.

Kim is a graduate of the University of Maryland and is currently the Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair of The Higher Achievement Program and a member of the Board, Finance Committee and Audit Committee for Fort Washington Medical Center. Kim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA), ASAE, and the National Association of Black Accountants. She is a member of ASAE’s Finance and Administration Section and GWSCPA’s Not-for-Profit Committee.
