We established the Raffa Learning Community as one more contribution to the nonprofit field. We offer complimentary and fee-based training seminars in accounting, technology, human resources and more. The series of classes are specifically designed to keep you on top of the industry's leading trends, government regulations and new technologies. We offer year-round classes, roundtables, panels and forums on comprehensive and diverse topics presented by both internal and external subject matter experts. Additionally, we offer CPE credit for both Group Live and Group Internet seminars.

    Learning Objectives

    Participants shall leave this webinar with a greater understanding of the need for a public policy strategy for their organization. They will gain ten specific strategies to help them engage in the current political climate. They will experience case studies that demonstrate where a policy strategy helped a nonprofit achieve their mission. They will have had the opportunity to ask policy questions that affect their organization and hear the concerns of other nonprofits.

    This discussion educates and equips Board members and senior executives of nonprofit organizations with better understanding of their fiduciary and oversight responsibilities and the roles of an audit committee. It will help with the understanding of the relationship between the audit and finance committee and the external auditors, and provide some insight in choosing and working with the external auditors.
    The discussion will also include a walk-through of federal Form 990 with a focus on what audit and finance committee members and senior management should be aware of to minimize risks to them and the organization.
