Raffa Promotes New Partners and Directors | News Release​

​Professional Services Firm Has More Women in Leadership Than Any Other in the DC Region

Washington, DC –  Gery Ivanova and Patricia Williams have been named partners at Raffa, P.C. With their promotions, the number of female partners at the accounting, consulting, technology firm stands at 11 (of 17 total partners).

Gery Ivanova, Audit Partner, joined Raffa in 2001 upon graduating from college and has more than 14 years of audit experience with Raffa. She has extensive experience managing audits and providing consulting for a variety of nonprofits, with particular expertise working with international nonprofits and federal grants compliance. Gery leads the recruiting efforts for Raffa’s audit practice and is instrumental in attracting and retaining top level talent for the firm. Gery is a CPA and graduated as the class valedictorian from Concord University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance, where she also received state and national honors in accounting. Gery currently serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Cultural and Education Center in Washington, DC.

Patricia Williams, HR Services Partner, joined Raffa in 2003 and has more than 20 years experience as a human resources (HR) professional. Patricia has significant experience working with clients on compliance, compensation and benefits programs, orientation and training, equal opportunity, employee relations, professional development, and performance management. She consults on a wide array of matters, including developing policies and procedures that result in an improved ability to attract and retain quality staff and to provide a more efficient HR function. Patricia holds a Masters of Education from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts from Wheeling Jesuit University, in West Virginia. She holds a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional).

Andrea Barton, Jean Gilbert and Graziella Rhodes have been promoted to directors at the firm. As directors, each of them will be leading services for their clients and hold a key leadership position in their practice area.  

Andrea Barton and Jean Gilbert both joined Raffa’s Managed Accounting Services in 2006, helping to build one of the fastest growing areas of the firm. Andrea has over 30 years of experience, including as an auditor and in finance and accounting positions in private industry in nonprofit, technology, real estate, construction, health care, and government contracting. Andrea is a CPA and graduated from the University of Virginia. Jean’s prior experience included the key finance position at an international nonprofit where she managed multinational operations. Jean has over 25 years experience in nonprofit accounting and is a frequent presenter on the subject. She is a CPA and was a major contributor to Standards of Accounting and Financial Reporting for Voluntary Health and Welfare Agencies, (The Black Book), National Health Council. She served on the steering committee for the AICPA’s annual national not-for-profit conference from 2005 until 2011, and is on the audit committee of the DC Habitat for Humanity and Treasurer of Wilderness Leadership and Learning.  

Graziella Rhodes joined the Audit department at Raffa in 1987 and became a senior audit manager. In 2007, she joined Raffa’s Nonprofit Tax department and has been responsible for overseeing the preparation of over 450 annual Form 990’s. Graziella is a CPA and graduate of the American University.
